Award Categories
Submissions are invited in the following categories, each representing a critical frontier for the sport’s development:
- Performance Technology: Innovations in equipment, wearables, or training tools designed to enhance player safety, optimize athletic performance, or reduce injury risk. Examples include advanced sensor-based analytics, biomechanical training devices, and next-generation protective gear.
- Fan & Stadium Experience: Solutions that significantly improve engagement, accessibility, or sustainability for spectators in-ballpark or via broadcast. This includes augmented reality features, concession and accessibility advancements, and smart venue operations.
- Data Analytics & Baseball Operations: Tools and software that provide novel insights for player evaluation, in-game strategy, talent development, or team management. Submissions may involve advanced statistical models, predictive algorithms, or integrated data visualization platforms.
- Sustainability & Field Management: Advancements that promote environmental stewardship within baseball operations. This encompasses resource-efficient field maintenance, waste reduction programs, renewable energy applications, and sustainable material use in stadiums and equipment.
- Community & Accessibility: Initiatives or technologies that broaden participation and access to the sport. This category recognizes innovations focused on grassroots development, adaptive equipment for players with disabilities, and programs promoting inclusivity.
General Eligibility & Submission Requirements
- The submission must represent a verifiable innovation (a product, process, technology, or program) with a direct application in baseball.
- The innovation must have been developed, tested, or implemented within the 24 months prior to the submission deadline.
- Each entry must be submitted to a single, most appropriate category. The judging panel reserves the right to re-categorize submissions if deemed necessary.
- All entry materials, including descriptions, technical specifications, and visual evidence (e.g., photos, videos, data), must be provided in the official format by the stated deadline.
